About Cryotherapy

How does cryotherapy work ?

Whole Body Cryotherapy exposes the body to sub-zero temperatures inside of a chamber for up to 3 minutes. As the body is exposed to these freezing temperatures, it enacts a natural fight or flight response that constricts blood vessels to restrict blood away from extremities. This redirection causes your body to move blood toward the core, protecting your organs. During this process, the body increases its levels of oxygen and certain proteins that can decrease swelling. When you exit the Cryotherapy chamber and return to normal room temperature, this oxygen-rich blood moves back through the body.

Cryotherapy promotes better health by reducing inflammation, decreasing pain and improving circulation. Other benefits include faster recovery, better sleep, increased collagen production, release of endorphins, and stress reduction.

Is Cryotherapy for me ?

Whole body cryotherapy is ideal for people with chronic pain and excess inflammation, athletes seeking muscle recovery and performance enhancement, those who want to improve their sleep and rejuvenate their skin, and those who simply desire a mood booster or stress reliever. If you have any health concerns its always recommend to speak with your doctor before trying cryotherapy.

The Process

Prior to your session, you will fill out a questionnaire where you are asked about any medical conditions so we can ensure the temperature will not adversely affect any existing issues.

We will begin at the cryosauna so we can explain the process and answer any questions that you might have.

You will then get dressed for your cryotherapy session, we will provide you with everything you will need to wear including gloves, socks, shoes and a robe.

You will then step into the Cryosauna, where a technician will begin your session. During this quick, noninvasive process, cool, dry air will circulate your body from the neck down and significantly lower your surface body temperature.

The maximum amount of time that you are in the cryosauna is 3 minutes, but in as little as 1 minute 30 seconds you begin receiving benefits. If you feel ready to get out at any time, just let us know and we will stop the session.

As soon as the session is over, you will warm up quickly as the blood rushes back out to your extremities. You will feel refreshed with less pain in joints and muscles and ready to take on your day!

How often should I cryo?

Consistency is key!

We recommend doing 5-10 sessions close together when first starting. Cryo is safe to do daily. Then come as often as feels best for you, and that can be different for everyone. Some maybe twice a week, while others up to 5 times a week depending on what your health goal is.
